Chisinau is the capital, largest city, and the main administrative, economic, scientific, and cultural center of the Republic of Moldova. As the country’s economic engine, the city contributes approximately 62% of Moldova’s GDP. It has a population of around 720 128 residents, with an average gross monthly salary of 14 884 MDL.
The city's strategic location ensures easy access to international markets, supported by a well-developed road network and proximity to key border checkpoints. Chisinau is located just 78 km from the Leuseni–Albita customs point, one of the main gateways to the European Union. It is also situated 218 km from the Giurgiulesti Port and 201 km from the Port of Odesa, providing efficient connectivity to major export and import corridors.
Chisinau’s economy is diverse and steadily expanding, driven by dynamic sectors such as manufacturing, information and communications technology, construction, trade, transport and logistics, as well as financial and insurance services. Agrotek Industrial Park
Agrotek Industrial Park is a Category B industrial park established by Government Decision No. 528 of 26 August 2025 and managed by the limited liability company “Agrotek Park”, founded by the Technical University of Moldova.
The park is located in Chișinău municipality, on Mircești Street, and covers an area of 5 hectares. It is dedicated to the development of high-value projects in digital technologies, innovation, research and development, as well as agrotechnology and related sectors.
The industrial park provides a framework for collaboration between academia and the private sector, supporting technology transfer, innovative production, and knowledge-based economic activities. The title is granted for a period of 30 years, ensuring a stable and long-term environment for investment and business development.
Moldova HiTech Park
Moldova HiTech Park is a Category B industrial park established by Government Decision No. 647 of 1 October 2025 and managed by the limited liability company “Moldova HiTech Park”.
The park is located in Stăuceni, Chișinău municipality, and covers an area of 24.4042 hectares. It is developed as a modern innovation and technology hub focused on high-value economic activities.
The park supports investment in advanced digital technologies, innovation, research and development, and agrotechnology. It also provides a structured environment for technology transfer, knowledge-based industries, and collaboration between the public, academic, and private sectors.
With a long-term development horizon of 30 years, the park offers stable conditions for investors and contributes to the growth of Moldova’s innovation ecosystem and high-tech economy.
