Several Moldovan producers in the agri-food industry are offered the opportunity  to extend their goods export to the Romanian market, as a result of the expressed interest in domestic agri-food products of 16 Exporters in the Export Missions program. Currently,Romania ranks first in the export destinations of our products, followed by Poland, Belarus, the Russian Federation and Italy.

During the first stage of the Export Missions Program, organized by the Investment Agency, with the support of the World Bank, through the Competitiveness Project, 11 producers from the Republic of Moldova participated in over 100 meetings with importers from Romania. During the program, they managed to promote their products, establish partnership reletions and further collaborations, in order to be able to export to the neighboring country.

The Export Mission program highlights a new way of applying the practices and experiences learned, namely, creating new partnerships with importers from strategic countries.

"The Investment Agency has developed programs and activities to provide Moldovan producers with the assistance they need in order to strengthen their positions in the existing export markets, but also to extend to new markets. By the means of these aid programs, companies  have the opportunity to enter new market aligning their export products, according to the requirements of the market they want to reach. Moreover, Export Missions allows them to communicate directly with target potential partners establishing effective business relationships. ” stated Anastasia Ungureanu, Head of Export Promotion Department, Invest Moldova.

The statistics shows a decline of 11.5%  of the export of products in the previous year.  So, in order to increase the volume of exports, Moldovan producers need a steady  platform through which to promote their products.

Thanks to the positive results of export missions and at the request of producers in various sectors, the Export Missions program launched in September, its second stage, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
