On November 15, 2024, the third edition of the "Export Missions" program took place in Bucharest, a successful event implemented by Invest Moldova Agency, in partnership with the World Bank's Competitiveness Enhancement Project Implementation Unit (UIPAC). This initiative aims to facilitate the access of Moldovan products to international markets and strengthen trade relations between Moldovan exporters and buyers in Romania.

During the event, 54 Moldovan companies had the opportunity to explore business opportunities in key sectors such as: fruits, food products, furniture, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. These companies participated in 696 B2B meetings with 82 buyers from Romania, a process that fosters the development of long-term partnerships and creates new channels for accessing the Romanian market.

Mihai Chilianu, a representative of an exporting company from the Republic of Moldova, emphasized the positive impact of these initiatives: "We already have a solid presence in Romania. We export six to eight truckloads of products weekly, and for several years, we have been promoting fruits such as apples, grapes, and plums, which have already been successful on the Romanian market. This year, Moldovan cherries and strawberries have started to be appreciated in Romania, which is a very encouraging sign for us."

In addition to traditional products, the event also encouraged the entry of new products into the Romanian market. For example, a frozen pie producer from Moldova was able to secure an important contract with the Kaufland network in Romania, a rapid outcome of the export mission. This type of success is not unique – in previous editions of the "Export Missions" program, export volumes exceeded one million euros just for Romania, and over four years, they reached 3.3 million euros. These numbers are expected to continue growing, as many of the contracts signed are still in the negotiation and implementation stages.

Irina Tolstousov, Deputy Director of the Investment Agency, stated: "Export missions and participation in international exhibitions remain among the most effective tools for promoting Moldovan products on foreign markets. Their success demonstrates our commitment to supporting Moldovan exporters and positioning our high-quality products on global markets."

Moving forward, through the "Export Missions" program, an increase in Moldovan exports is expected, along with the strengthening of commercial relations in the Romanian market and beyond. The success of these initiatives reflects the Invest Moldova Agency commitment to supporting Moldovan exporters and positioning our quality products on global markets!
