Stefan Voda district is located in the eastern part of the Republic of Moldova, with a border line of over 126 km along the Nistru River. This positioning provides significant logistical and commercial potential, facilitating access to external markets. Additionally, it is directly connected to two customs posts, being only 140 km from the port of Odesa, and 177 km from the nearest customs point with the European Union – Leușeni.
The district comprises 26 localities with a population of approximately 42 285 inhabitants and an average gross salary of 8 773 lei. With a total area of nearly 100 000 hectares, the district is predominantly agricultural – over 70% of the territory being occupied by vineyards, orchards, and field crops. Thus, Ștefan Vodă district contributes significantly to the agricultural production of the Republic of Moldova, generating approximately 10% of leguminous plant production and 9% of field vegetable production.
Beyond the agricultural sector, the processing industry also stands out, with growing potential, supported by the presence of a subzone of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) "Bălți", which offers attractive conditions for investment and industrial expansion.
Successful companies operate in the district, such as Purcari – in the viticulture field, Uniqa – modular house field, and Snoopy Toys – toy manufacturing, demonstrating the diversity and dynamism of the local economy.
