The representatives of the turkish company Durukan,are performing  a working visit to the Republic of Moldova, between September 8-11 c.y., in order to identify the opportunities to shift their business to the Republic of Moldova.

The visit is organized by the Investment Agency "Invest Moldova", at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Republic of Turkey.

During the meeting, the team of the Investment Agency presented the investment opportunities in the field of interest, but also other fiscal, entrepreneurial and legal facilities, which make our country an emerging competitive and relevant destination for expanding Durukan's business.

The Investment Agency "Invest Moldova" developed the technical agenda of the study visit, during which members of Durukan will meet government representatives (Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture, etc.) as well as make study visits to FEZ "Ungheni - Business ”, Soroca subzone,“ Valkanes ”FEZ, Comrat and Ciadir-Lunga subzone  hold meetings with the representatives of the associative environment in the fields related to the activity of Durukan company (Sudzuker company and Moldova Zahăr).

According to Mr Uğur DURUKAN,, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Durukan Șekerleme San. Ve TIC. A.Ș. the company is analyzing the possibility to open a factory in the Republic of Moldova (10 thousand m2), and to employ 500 local citizens, offering  higher salaries than the average salary in the country in the related sector, providing the necessary training to staff. Production capacity is expected to increase amounting 37 million US dollars of annual turnover to , of which 70% will remain in the Republic of Moldova (to buy raw materials, pay wages, utilities, communications, transportation and others).

The company started the activity  in 1976, and currently exports products to the USA, EU, Asia and Africa (over 60 countries). In 1995, Durukan initiated a collaboration with the legendary American company Pepsi Co., making lollipops for the Turkish market, under the Rokko brand. Lateron, Durukan became one of the largest distributors of Rokko candies in Europe. The Durukan candy factory is located in Ankara, and the company's distribution center is located in Istanbul. The company has its own R&D center, producing lollipops taking into account the specific preferences of the consumer (including halal).
