The collaboration between Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and India has grown significantly since its inception, evolving into a robust partnership with 1,267 Indian students currently enrolled, primarily from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. 
India leads the international student community at USMF, with 1,267 Indian students representing over half of the total 2,267 foreign students, making it the largest national group studying at the institution.

Moldova has significant potential for medical tourism with specialized treatment services at very competitive costs. With 300 private hospitals and clinics, including 200 dental clinics, the country attract patients from all over the world. Starting 2024, Moldova holds the presidency of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) and, over the next two years, the Medical Tourism Association plans to develop important projects related to technological innovations and developing wellness tourism.
