The fashion industry in the Republic of Moldova is experiencing accelerated growth, further evidenced by the recent listing of three local brands—Georgette, Yulia Efros, and Pearl Code—on the global platform Wolf & Badger, joining the already established presence of Julia Allert.

The e-commerce platform is B-Corp certified, reflecting its commitment to ethics, sustainability, and transparency. Wolf & Badger hosts more than 2,000 independent brands from around the world, creating a visionary global community built on the long-standing principles of craftsmanship and artistry.

The marketplace offers online sales, physical stores in major global cities, and access to an international audience seeking unique products. Designers in the Wolf & Badger community benefit from global visibility without their own infrastructure, enabling them to attract new customers, increase sales, and strengthen brand credibility.

Julia Allert: 95% of Production Destined for Export

Over the last five years, the brand has evolved from a local atelier to a stable fixture in international e-commerce, all while keeping its creative roots firmly in Moldova. Today, over 95% of its creations are exported. The brand continues to develop its identity at home, proving that Moldovan-made fashion can compete at the highest international level."Collaborating with the platform has amplified the brand's global visibility and facilitated access to a community of buyers who appreciate independent fashion, attention to detail, and timeless pieces. Being among the top 10 best-selling brands on Wolf & Badger confirms not only the international relevance of Moldovan creations but also our solid positioning in the high-quality independent design segment," says Iulia, the brand’s founder.

Pearl Code: Jewelry Capturing International Markets

Launched in 2022, Pearl Code creates modern, feminine jewelry. Each collection is designed as a "jewelry capsule," allowing pieces to be worn in multiple contexts—from daily outfits to special events. Their jewelry is available locally, on the official website, in the transit zone of Chișinău International Airport, and in Romania at Palas Mall (Iași) and the One Million Concept Store.

Current production capacity ranges from 3,000–4,000 units during peak periods to approximately 500 units monthly under normal conditions. The brand is now preparing to expand into the premium segment, utilizing gold, diamonds, and saltwater pearls."Listing on Wolf & Badger is a strategic step toward internationalization, offering access to the UK and US markets plus visibility within a premium community. It is a platform where many creators have been discovered. W&B is selective; they carefully analyze a brand's reputation before acceptance. We will start with approximately 20 best-sellers, designed as a complete capsule," explains Mila Tomșa and Vicky Maxim, jewelry consultants for Pearl Code.

Yulia Efros: A Strong Presence in Romania

Yulia Efros brings an aesthetic inspired by Romanian symbols and lines, reinterpreted for the contemporary era. "We aimed to bring symbols, materials, and lines inspired by Romanian traditions into the present, but in a modern and internationally relevant form," says Iulia Efros, founder of the eponymous label.

In 2025, Yulia Efros’s creations were showcased at Bucharest Fashion Week. The collections can also be found in Bucharest through a collaboration with Eshte—a space dedicated to promoting Romanian talent."Being on Wolf & Badger is a joy and a major validation, providing access to a global audience that values authenticity and quality. The first products listed on the platform include the Cucutenian Dress, Royal Blouse, and Case Dress, which are already favorites on the local market," Iulia adds.

Georgette: 16 Years in the Moldovan Textile Market

The Georgette brand was created in 2010 with a philosophy that every woman deserves to feel special. The cuts are designed to flatter the silhouette, and materials are rigorously selected to ensure every piece is timeless."Georgette products can be found in three stores in Chișinău. For international customers, we use our website to ship worldwide. Recently, we were accepted onto the Wolf & Badger platform. Our goals for 2026 include visible expansion into the Romanian market and presence on two additional international marketplaces," says Georgeta Mir, the brand's founder.

International Recognition for the Four Brands

The entry of Moldovan brands into Wolf & Badger reflects the industry's development and the capacity of local designers to create original, internationally competitive products. The platform, renowned for supporting sustainable design, provides an ideal framework for brands seeking global visibility without high overhead costs.

While the listing is relatively recent for some, results have been immediate. Georgette has already recorded orders from the UK and the USA, while Pearl Code is shipping its first orders to markets like Mexico and the US, confirming genuine international interest in products made in the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Employers' Association of the Light Industry (APIUS), the fashion ecosystem comprises approximately 100 designers and companies with strong production capacity and private-label potential. Local brands are present on international platforms such as Wolf & Badger, Doors, NotJustALabel, and JOOR, as well as in boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, and Paris.

Italy remains the primary export market for Moldova’s textile, apparel, footwear, and leather (TAFL) industry, accounting for 40–50% of annual domestic production, followed by Romania, Turkey, Germany, Poland, and the UK. Textile exports for 2024 generated $20 million in revenue.
