Telenesti district is located in the center of the Republic of Moldova and consists of 44 localities, with a population of approximately 41 452 inhabitants and an average monthly gross salary of 8 711 lei.
The district's territory is crossed by several major international transport corridors, including routes M2 (Chisinau–Soroca) and M14 (Brest–Briceni–Chisinau–Tiraspol–Odesa), which facilitates the mobility of people and goods. The distance to the capital Chisinau is 81.4 kilometers, while the main customs points, Sculeni and Leuseni, are located approximately 107 kilometers away. Access to important commercial ports, such as Giurgiulesti and Odesa, is provided through a route of approximately 278 kilometers.
The economy of Telenești District is primarily focused on agriculture, which includes field crops, fruit growing—with particular emphasis on walnut plantations that have expanded considerably in recent years—as well as animal husbandry.
Several companies of national and international reference operate in the district, including Grigrian Grup, specialized in meat production, processing and preservation; FITOLINE Group, active in the cultivation of cereals, vegetables and other agricultural crops; Nisip-SI, which manages and operates a sand and crushed stone quarry; and Northside Textile, an important company in the textile sector.
