Soldanesti

Soldanesti district is located in the northeastern part of the central region of the Republic of Moldova and comprises a total of 33 localities. The district has a population of approximately 25 394 inhabitants and an average gross salary of 9175 MDL.

The distance to Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, is 107 km, while the distance to the western border at the Sculeni customs point is 150 km. The city of Iasi, an important economic and cultural center in Romania, is located 174 km away, while the strategic ports for regional trade, Giurgiulesti and Odesa, are situated 325 km and 305 km from the district, respectively.

Economic activity is dominated by the agricultural sector, supported by related industries and growing services, though significant growth has also been recorded in other important sectors. Beyond economic aspects, Soldanesti District is rich in natural and cultural tourist attractions, including the Soldanesti Canyon, the rock complex in Socola village, and the "Climautii de Jos" landscape reserve.

The district hosts several active companies, including Margo Gater, which specializes in wood processing; Fresh Time, active in fruit cultivation; and Carneval, focused on pig farming.
