Rezina

Rezina district is located in the northeast of the Central region of the Republic of Moldova and comprises 41 localities. The population is estimated at 30 243 inhabitants, with an average gross salary of 9 820 lei. The district benefits from a strategic geographical position that offers advantages for foreign trade: 98.9 km from Chisinau, 173 km to the Leuseni border, 193 km to Iași, 332.1 km to the Giurgiulesti port, and approximately 269 km to the Odesa port.

The district hosts the Rezina Sub-zone of the "Bălți" Free Economic Zone, covering an area of 8.7 hectares with access to utilities and railway infrastructure. Several industrial buildings with a total area of 25 609 square meters are located within the sub-zone territory.

The dominant industries are cement and construction materials, owing to local natural resources including limestone, stone, and sand. Agriculture is also important, and the services sector is active, with over 900 economic agents operating in the district.

The district is home to nationally and internationally representative companies, including Lafarge Ciment (Moldova) S.A., a leader in cement production and part of the international Holcim Group; Fabrica de Materiale de Construcție Rezina S.A., active in the construction materials industry; and Frank Investment S.R.L., a subsidiary of Danish producer Tunetanken, specializing in the manufacture of tanks, industrial systems, and fiberglass silos.
