Nisporeni district comprises 39 localities with an estimated population of 36 413 inhabitants and an average gross salary of 8 867 MDL. Strategically positioned just 43.2 km from the Leuseni customs point, 92.7 km from Iasi, and 71 km from Chisinau, the district offers rapid access to both domestic and international markets, though it is located 270 km from Odesa port and 239 km from Giurgiulesti port. The local economy is supported by key development sectors including agriculture, viticulture, and the food industry.

An innovative project within the district is the "Herbafruct" micro-cluster, focused on the cultivation, processing, and commercialization of medicinal, aromatic, and oleaginous plants. The district also hosts the Nisporeni sub-zone of the "Ungheni-Business" Free Economic Zone, covering 26.1 hectares (both brownfield and greenfield sites) with access to utilities and the R25 road.

Notable companies operating here include nationally and internationally recognized firms such as Nires International, which specializes in footwear manufacturing, and Nisprofcon, active in residential and non-residential construction.
