Ialoveni district is located in the center of the Republic of Moldova, just 12 km southwest of Chisinau municipality, which ensures a strategic position in proximity to the capital. The district comprises 34 localities and has a population of approximately 74 458 inhabitants, with an average gross salary of 9 697 lei.
Access to international markets is facilitated by proximity to customs points and developed road infrastructure. The district is located only 79 km from the Leuseni–Albita customs point, one of the main gateways to the European Union. The road distance to Giurgiulesti port is approximately 200 km, and to Odesa port – 190 km, which allows rapid connection to export and import corridors.
The economy of Ialoveni district is diversified, with dynamic and continuously developing sectors. Among the most representative economic branches are the wine industry, agro-industry and food processing, construction industry and construction materials, light industry, and food industry. This variety of activities is supported by modern infrastructure, including the presence of an industrial park within the subzone of the Free Economic Zone "Bălți", which provides local companies with complete infrastructure.
Reference companies at national and international level operate in the district. Among these are Mileștii Mici, holder of the world's largest wine collection, recognized with a Guinness record; AquaElm from Ulmu locality, specialized in sturgeon farming and premium caviar production for export; Euroaccent, a company specialized in concrete production for construction; as well as Sandriliona - a major ice cream producer and exporter.
