Hincesti district is located in the central-western part of the Republic of Moldova, approximately 40 km southwest of Chisinau, benefiting from a favorable geographical position from a logistical standpoint. It is crossed by important national and regional roads, including the R33 route (Chisinau–Hancesti–Leuseni), which facilitates rapid access to the Leuseni–Albita customs point, located only 43 km away. The district is also located 189 km from Giurgiulesti port and 230 km from Odesa port.
With a population of approximately 69 462 inhabitants and 63 localities, the district has an economy focused on agriculture, especially viticulture. Other important sectors include extractive industry, processing industry, and construction. The average gross salary in the district is 9 770 lei.
Economic development is supported by the presence of a subzone of the Free Economic Zone "Ungheni–Business", which offers an industrial platform of 1.99 hectares, including production halls with a total area of 12,000 m², equipped with the necessary infrastructure for conducting economic activities.
Among the representative companies in the region are "Lactalis-Alba", specialized in dairy products production, as well as "Axedum", focused on poultry farming for meat, being the first company in the Republic of Moldova to achieve poultry meat exports.
