Criuleni district is located only 39 km from the capital of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau, ensuring rapid access to the country's administrative, economic, and commercial center. The district is structured in 43 localities, with a population of approximately 9 345 inhabitants and an average gross salary in the region of 10 258 lei.
The district is located only 84 km from the Leuseni customs point – one of the most important gateways to the European Union, 119 km from Iași municipality, 260 km from Giurgiulesti Port, and approximately 213 km from Odesa port (Ukraine), which facilitates export and import activities for local economic agents.
The economy of Criuleni district is dominated by the agro-industrial sector. At the same time, there is an active presence of the food industry, with meat processing units, vegetables, bakery products, and other food products. Other developed economic branches include construction, textile industry, and service provision.
Reference companies at national and international level operate in the district, such as: Farma Prim – specialized in pharmaceutical production; Molinart Grup – producer of tanks, cisterns, and metal containers; Fani Grup – active in fruit harvesting; Metal Supply Masters – producer of metal components for companies such as Caterpillar or Volvo.
