The marketplace was held online because of the pandemic restrictions, and linked 200 tourism customers from 38 countries with 148 suppliers from all 12 countries in the Balkan region.
The event set the record of 3000 B2B meetings, held between participants, in order to stimulate tourism in crisis times.
The General Director of the Investment Agency, Rodica Verbeniuc, participated as a speaker at the event and presented the tourist offer of the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing the most important destinations and activities that can attract tourists. Rodica Verbeniuc stressed the importance of supporting our companies in their development efforts, in a not at all easy period for this sector.
Berd’s Chisinau MGallery Hotel Collection, Castel Mimi, Purcari Winery, Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel, Tatrabis and Visit Moldova - companies from the tourism and hospitality industry of the Rebublic of Moldova, presented their offers at the New Deal Europe Marketplace 2021.
The video spot launched within the international campaign “Moldova: A place to find yourself” was broadcasted during the event. The tourist potential of the Republic of Moldova is promoted in a new light, representing our country as a symbiosis between nature and music, gastronomy and wine, adventure and other authentic experiences, through which anyone can find or reinvent themselves.
The event organizers wanted to mention that despite the pandemic consequences that affected the way we perceive travel and changed the face of global tourism, this industry does not stand still. In this regard, the Director of the Regional Department for Europe of the World Tourism Organization, Alessandra Priante, said that the Balkan countries are an example for the rest of the world because of their positive attitude and willingness to work together in a world so full of challenges.
