Today, January 27, 2021,the College of the Investment Agency of Moldova held a meeting where the results of the activity carried out in the second semester of 2020 and the priorities for the current year were presented.
The event was attended by the General Director of the Investment Agency, as well as by State Chancellery, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure representatives .
In his debut, the Director of the Agency, Rodica Verbeniuc, mentioned that despite the great challenges of this pandemic year, the Investment Agency managed to fulfill its responsibilities, turning restrictions into opportunities.
Despite the disruptions of export-import activities, stopping the international tourist flow, permanently changing agenda of national and international events, the Investment Agency through its mandate to promote the investments, export, tourism and brand sector of the country carriedout its activities focusing on:
- supporting domestic producers in export activities
- supporting SMEs through the dissemination of good international practices
- technical assistance during to investments launching visits
- actions to improve Republic of Moldova's foreign investors fidelity ,
- promoting the country's image and programs to attract investment, export and tourism on alternative online platforms
Export
In the framework of a pandemic year, the activity of the export sector was shifted to online IT platforms and digital tools.
Through the GO ONLINE digital platform, the Agency coordinated the connection of 25 businesses to 25 social service providers - 8 in the field of tourism and handmade products and 12 businesses in the processing of agricultural products, organic waste and plastics.
Given the promoting actions of the digital platforms, there were organized 12 educational webinars on e-commerce and digitization, as well as a 4-day marathon on Digital Marketing. On the online export background, the Investment Agency, through the LEVEL UP program, financially supported 20 businesses in the light industry, members of the DININIMA brand in order to expand its business in the online environment.

Attracting and protecting investments
In the second semester of 2020, the activity of the Investment Agency resulted in the start up of 5 new investment projects.
Including 3 investments from Germany: in the automotive field, in the IT sectors and a German investment specialized in assembling state-of-the-art electric generators, which will operate in the Comrat - ZEL Vulcănești subzone, creating 15 jobs.
The United Kingdom has made an investment in the electronics sector, and the Russian Federation in the production of thermal construction insulation materials. The cumulative value of the announced investments exceeds 30 million euros. Through the diplomatic missions, two export contracts have been signed: plums and grapes export, worthing 2 million euros on the Polish market, and walnuts and honey worthing about 1 million euros on the Swiss market were obtained.

Tourism
The pandemic, among its negative effects and a lot of constraints, also generated the opportunity to relaunch domestic tourism. In the summer of 2020, the national campaign NeamPornit Protejați registered a positive interest and presence explosion of citizens in the tourist areas of Moldova. As a result of the campaign, 700 tourist destinations were involved and the digital tourist map with over 600 destination was developed in premiere; a survey was conducted aiming to assess citizens opinion about tourist destinations in the Republic of Moldova.
In the tourism sector, the Voivode Stephen the Great Route Forum was organized. Visual identity materials for the promotion of the Route, were developed: 9 information panels for the main ourist destinations in the Republic of Moldova; promotional materials for additional route objectives; informational tours with local bloggers.
