Over 70 diplomatic missions representatives will benefit from training in 3 strategic economic areas: attracting investments, promoting exports, promoting tourism in the Republic of Moldova

Reaching its fourth edition, the Annual Meeting in the field of Economic Diplomacy brings together over 70 representatives of diplomatic missions, ambassadors and economic attachés, over three days, July 29-31, will be involved in information sessions on 3 strategic economic areas: attracting investments, promoting exports, promoting tourism in the Republic of Moldova.

In its turn, Dumitru Socolan, Secretary of State stressed the need for international cooperation in the economic chain during the pandemic, to deal with the current crisis and noted that the ministry relies on concrete actions of economic attachés to strengthen dialogue with external partners.The agenda was created based on the requests and feedback provided by diplomatic attachés, from the perspective of the interests, opportunities and challenges facing diplomatic missions in other states.

In this context, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Serghei Răilean, pointed out  that in the formation of any successful investment history of the country, the participation of the representative of the diplomatic mission is inevitable. "Attracting investments is essential for the development and modernization of the country's economic sectors and in this regard the Government of the Republic of Moldova creates favorable conditions for you to attract investments in infrastructure, IT, energy, etc.", added the Government official.

Moreover, this year's edition has a special guest, the Director of Strategy Partners Ireland, Declan Murphy, a well-known name in the  investment strategies. The expert contributed to strengthening business, investment and education relations between many countries, which during two days of training will provide advice and international experience in diplomacy, investment and leadership. In the first presentation, Mr Murphy referred to the role of economic diplomacy in promoting investment and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, investment generation and global trends, the investment cycle and types of investment.

Within the event, several foreign investors and partners will share their experience of starting a business in the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, the participants will have the opportunity to participate in 1-to-1 sessions with representatives of state institutions and the associative environment in which they will have the opportunity to establish direct collaboration relations with specialists and to strengthen communication on each sector., be it investment, export or tourism.

The training is organized by the Investment Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
