The results of the first stage of the Export Missions Program

Several Moldovan producers in the agri-food industry are offered the opportunity  to extend their goods export to the Romanian market, as a result of the expressed interest in domestic agri-food products of 16 Exporters in the Export Missions program. Currently,Romania ranks first in the export destinations of our products, followed by Poland, Belarus, the Russian Federation and Italy.

During the first stage of the Export Missions Program, organized by the Investment Agency, with the support of the World Bank, through the Competitiveness Project, 11 producers from the Republic of Moldova participated in over 100 meetings with importers from Romania. During the program, they managed to promote their products, establish partnership reletions and further collaborations, in order to be able to export to the neighboring country.

The Export Mission program highlights a new way of applying the practices and experiences learned, namely, creating new partnerships with importers from strategic countries.

"The Investment Agency has developed programs and activities to provide Moldovan producers with the assistance they need in order to strengthen their positions in the existing export markets, but also to extend to new markets. By the means of these aid programs, companies  have the opportunity to enter new market aligning their export products, according to the requirements of the market they want to reach. Moreover, Export Missions allows them to communicate directly with target potential partners establishing effective business relationships. ” stated Anastasia Ungureanu, Head of Export Promotion Department, Invest Moldova.

The statistics shows a decline of 11.5%  of the export of products in the previous year.  So, in order to increase the volume of exports, Moldovan producers need a steady  platform through which to promote their products.

Thanks to the positive results of export missions and at the request of producers in various sectors, the Export Missions program launched in September, its second stage, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The results of the 2021 study on the local tourist offer

The investment agency "Invest Moldova", the institution which aims to promote local tourism, launched the second edition of the study on the local tourist offer perception 2021. The research was conducted by Magenta Consulting within the national campaign #NeamPornit, designed to promote and provide support to domestic tourism, ensuring visitors’ flow increase to local tourist attractions.

The study is an important document for the economic organizations in the field of tourism. It reflects both the positive trends in the activity they will carry out, but also the changes that the client wants. According to the specialists of the Investment Agency "Invest Moldova", the research is a good tool for adapting domestic tourism services to the challenges of today's economy, which was hardly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. According to statistical data, between January and September 2021, the country's travel agencies attended 264 thousand tourists, of whom 60 thousand are citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

The study conducted by Magenta Consulting shows that 67% of Moldovans prefer to visit Moldova’s cities and monasteries. 59 %  choose nature walks and 51% prefer boat trips on the River Dniester. 44 % favor excursions to wineries and wine cellars, and 46% prefer boarding houses.

Another section of the research shows that 70 percent of respondents consider that 1000 lei per day is an acceptable amount to be spent on a vacation in Moldova. However the survey participants consider that tourism entrepreneurs should revise prices for certain services, and to promote their attractions in a more active way.

The study was conducted on a sample of 1,084 people aged 22-25 years. The research  aimed to scan the tourism field and to provide tourism agencies a helpful tool to help them meet the needs of the local tourist. Besides all this, the study reprezents a guide to stimulate the policies of the national tourism development authorities.
